Assessments & Proctoring
At the BYU Testing Center
The BYU Testing Center, located in the Heber Grant Building (HGB), will continue to provide test administration services for classes that are conducted in-person. Our services include scheduling, administering, and live proctoring of exams in a secure environment that helps maintain the integrity of each test and guard against cheating behaviors. Exams can be administered via paper (such as written responses, machine-scored bubble sheets), or on Learning Suite or Canvas via Chromebooks provided at the Testing Center.
The Testing Center has begun to accept requests for testing services during fall semester. To schedule exams, go here: Exam Scheduling.
Additional Proctoring Option for Fall Semester
In an effort to support faculty who teach large classes and are interested in using class time to assess student learning, a double gym in the Richard’s Building has been set up as a satellite testing center and can accommodate up to 470 individual students. These exams will be scheduled in class groups where all students in a course or section will be able to take their exam in a proctored setting at the same time. Testing Center staff assisted by TAs from the instructor’s department will proctor and collect the exams. Tests will be scored in batches, by the Testing Center staff and results returned to the instructor. This service cannot be scheduled online. To reserve space, call: 801-422-6147.
